SCOREBOARD

Our first major project has been the purchase of the new scoreboard located on the west wall of the gym.

This scoreboard, one of the most sophisticated in the NLL, keeps the game score, time, team fouls, and both the home and visitor individual player numbers, fouls, and points scored.

To help pay for the scoreboard and fund other Backcourt Booster activities, advertising space has been sold surrounding the scoreboard.

The scoreboard can also be used for wrestling, volleyball, and other sports activities.

HALFTIME 3-POINT CONTEST

At the halftime of both the JV and varsity games, the Backcourt Boosters sponsors a 3-point contest where anyone may pay a dollar and attempt a 3-point shot. If the shot is made, the shooter wins a dollar.

NEW SOUND SYSTEM FOR THE GYM

The Backcourt Boosters has purchased a brand-new sound system for the high school gym. Six speakers have been mounted on the ceiling of the gym and are controlled by a high-tech mixing board, notebook computer, and sophisticated data base/special effects software. You'll be blown away by the difference in the quality (and volume) of the sound system!

LANDRO PLAY ANALYZER

The Landro play analyzer is a digital "playback analysis" tool used to study game videos. Designed especially for coaches, it allows a coach to instantly jump to plays without ever using video tape again. This new kind of digital product allows coaches to analyze their plays, study players' techniques and their opponents' tendencies... without ever using video tape. That's why it's called Landro play analyzer. It helps coaches analyze their video 100 times faster than using video tape.

Our investment in this system is $10,000 -- one system for the boys' program and one for the girls' program.
